Onefeed Container / Partner Tags Management

Almost all shopping and affiliate sites ask for their pixel tracking to be added for any advertising you do with them. Often this is beneficial as it gives your partners an insight into how well they are performing and as such they can make adjustments to achieve better results. In principle this works well, however given the propensity for shoppers to visit several sites you work with, the accuracy of their sales claim data is somewhat redundant. We see a lot of clicks in our click path tables of shoppers that have sometimes visited several shopping sites in their path to purchase. Using traditional means of pixel tracking, all sites on their path will claim the sale as they have their tracking tag on that shoppers browser. Of course this will make it very difficult to reconcile more orders than you are seeing.

Our Onefeed container tag solves the issues stated above. As we are tracking all the sites individually instead of independently we can assign the sale to the last referring site and hence load their tracking tag. This means that their tags will only get launched if they sent the last click from this marketplace. It also means that all the other sites that potentially had a click will not try to claim the sale. This gives a much more rounded and accurate picture of your performance on these sites.

Along with the tracking tags each site has their own reviews system. Again, this is a bit of a nightmare to control as each site generally sets their survey invites to work for all shoppers. Again using our container tag we control which invite gets launched based on the last referring site. Essentially it means merchants can control where they are getting rated and who gets the most invites served on your receipt page. A major benefit to using some of the review systems is that Google picks up these reviews and will pull them back into their shopping and Adwords results.

The merchant interface allows for easy setup of all your partner tags. All you need to add is the relevant merchant ID number to the tracking or survey invite and it will start to work immediately. There are 3 options available for tags setup; on, off or referrer dependant.

The only requirement for the tags to work is the Onefeed tracking tag to be placed on your receipt page. The Onefeed tag acts as a window to allow the relevant partner tags to be injected into an invisible i-frame.
